Viewpoints with Jane Ruster: Stand for the National Anthem. Aired October 30th 2017

October 30th, 2017

Hi, I'm Jane Ruster, and my Point of View today is:  It was about time Roger Goodell FINALLY voiced his opinion the week of October 1, 2017 respecting our National Anthem and Flag; he should have squelched this behavior when Colin Kapernick did not stand a year ago, but he didn't.  Had he administered that, this whole situation would have ended.  Goodell ultimately commented that, "All players must stand for the National Anthem and honor the American Flag."  But he issued NO consequence at that time if the players continued to sit or kneel.  How limp is that!  The NFL should have a definitive RULE to "Stand for the National Anthem!"

After such rampant disrespect for our Flag such as school children allowed to kneel and not stand, teachers trampling the Amercian Flag, and professors disparaging the National Anthem.  President Trump during a rally, declared to the NFL, "Fire the S.O.B's if they disrespect the Flag."  I must say he probably could have been more diplomatic, but they all got the message.
Unfortunately, more Black players knelt. On Sunday, September 24, 2017 over 200 players did not stand for the Anthem.  It is disrespectful, and it is their job.  If they have issues, find another venue.  Be the solution, players, quit wanting someone else to do it, and instead of kneeling do something constructive.  These players are revered by young children, who are very impressionable, and when these players disparage the Amercian Flag, which is representing our Country, the example they display is a lack of PATRIOTISM.
This did not start with President Trump; it started with President Obama and his disrespect for Our Country and Law Enforcement.  The Media called President Trump's comments "racist".  President Trump gave his opinion; that's his First Amendment Right.  This has nothing to do with "race".  President Trump would have said this if it had to do with golf, soocer, tennis, hockey, or baseball.  He said, "Standing for Our Country, the American Flag, and Servicemen and Women shows Our RESPECT."  Fans don't want the players kneeling.  NFL ticket sales, revenue, and viewers have greatly decreased.  Even the Vice President, October 10, 2017 at a game between the Colts and 49er's left because some 49er's did not for the Flag.
ESPN's Jemele Hill, a Black woman, stated, "Donald Trump's a White Supremist and surrounds himself with other White Supremists.  Does that mean that a White person commenting on his or her PATRIOTISM is racist because there are more Blacks than Whites in the NFL?   Well, Jamele Hill, are you a Black Supremist?  Maybe we should have NFL "Affirmative Action" regarding the number of Blacks and Whites.  What do you think?
"If you're on your knees, you're not standing for ANYTHING."

I'm Jane Ruster, and that's my Point of View.

Viewpoitns With Jane Ruster: Gun Control Part Two, aired October 23rd, 2017

October 23rd, 2017

Hi, I'm Jane Ruster, and my Point of View today is:  This is Part II (Gun Statistics and Finding America's Murder Problem) The morally corrupt people who treat violence as an aceptable form of political expression represent an all-out attack on the Constitution and the principle of free speech, tolerance, and honest debate.  Gun control in Europe is almost total.  Has it stopped mass shooting there?  NO.  Maybe, we all should review gun violence in the movie industry and how it de-sensitizes people.  The LEFT discuss it because Hollywood is a Democratic Donation "Honey Pot".
The vast majority of murders in the United States occur in just a tiny percentage of counties, and even in those few counties there are large areas where there are no murders-according to John R. Lott, Jr.  Fact is, there is not a Nationwide murder problem.  Since 1998 there has been a huge drop in crime; however there are more gun owners, and the vast majority of those who buy guns have had to have "background checks".
Research shows that 51 percent of U.S. murders occur in 2 percent of counties.  The Country can actually be divided into 3 types of places - places where there are no murders (which make up the majority), places where there are a few murders, and a small number of places where murders are all too common.
The areas where most of the murders occur are overwhelmingly areas where there are gangs - particularly drug gangs.  What is clear is how useless it is to rely on gun-control laws such as "background checks" to stop these drug gangs from getting firearms; but just as drug gangs can bring illegal drugs into the Country, they also can bring in weapons they need to protect those valuable drugs.
Fifty-four percent of counties (containing 11 percent of the population) had no murders at all.  The worst 1 percent of counties have 19 percent of the population and 37 percent of the murders.  A full 68 percent of murders occurred in only 5 percent of counties.  Southern CA counties, Chicago counties, NYC, southeastern FL counties, south central NM, and Portland, OR have the highest murder rates with the STRICTIST gun laws.  If the 1 percent of counties with the highest number of murders somehow were to become a separate country, the murder rate in the rest of the United States would have been only 3.4 per 100,000, respectively.
The household gun ownership rate in rural areas was 111 percent greater than in urban areas.  Suburban households are 28.6 percent more likely to own legal guns than urban households.  Despite lower gun ownership, urban areas experience much higher murder rates.  Murder is a problem in a very small subset of urban areas within the United States.  If we are going to reduce the U.S. murder rate, we must see what is unique about those areas.  High legal gun ownership rates are clearly not a factor.  The areas which have been controlled by Democrats with the strictist gun laws have the highest crime and murder rates.  So much of the Country has both very high gun ownership rates and zero murders.

I'm Jane Ruster, and that's my Point of View.

Viewpoitns With Jane Ruster: Gun Control Part One, aired October 16, 2017

October 16th, 2017

Hi, I'm Jane Ruster, and my Point of View today is:  Part I The gun Control Agenda of the LEFT  There is a violent movement in this Country that threatens the very foundations of our Freedom.  And it comes, unmistakenly, from the LEFT.  LEFTISTS, so-called Progresssives, and the Liberal Media outlets don't hide their hatred of guns and people who own them.  The result is a pervasively LEFTIST slant in newspaper and Media coverage of anything having to do with gun owners, the NRA, and its members.
